Yachiyo’s passion for art has been an enduring force in her life. She attempts to create an atmosphere that offers the viewer a temporary diversion from life's adversities. Her sources of inspiration include personal experiences, nature, and her own artistic imagination. A distinct Asian influence is present in many of her paintings.

Sandra Blair
Copyright © Sandra Blair Best Of America Watermedia Artists Volume III’m not one to paint sweeping vistas where the animals remain distant from the viewer. I prefer a more intimate format that showcases the unique personality, beauty, power and grace of the animals, making them difficult to ignore. My goal is to remind the viewer that these are living beings and only we can ensure their survival.
A quote by Van Gogh sums it up beautifully: It is not the language of painters but the language of nature which one should listen to. The feeling for the things themselves, for reality, is more important than the feeling for pictures. -

Kip Decker
Copyright © Kip DeckerBest Of America Watermedia Volume III have been painting for over 40 years. I would describe my work as a type of lyrical impressionism - painterly – with abundant color. I have usually incorporated sun-dappled or misty light dancing across the surface of the canvas or breaking through the background in sun rays. All these images celebrate life with all its inherent beauty.
I usually paint with acrylic paint on canvas and take many liberties as to colors, values, textures and sizes in creating my paintings. I like the staining and glazing possibilities offered by acrylic paints. I am in numerous private and corporate collections. -

Ming Franz
Copyright Ming Franz 2009Best Of America Watermedia Artists Vol. IIMing's style of art is called "Splash ink with watercolor".The splash ink technique begins with pouring Asian ink and primary watercolors onto rice paper or wet watercolor paper. The resulting beautiful abstract color forms and the blending of the two media renders an emotional expression of nature’s living beauty,
This innovative style of art is about freedom, creativity and imagination, about finding your inner spirit and letting it work for and through you.

Alison Gilmour
Best of Worldwide Watermedia Artists Volume I
Alison Gilmour lives in coastal New Zealand, instilling a deep love of the sea inspiring her to paint its many forms.
She captures the endless beauty of her environment with delicate brushwork – creating images which have a photo-realistic quality and hues which reflect the clarity, light and richness of the South Pacific. She is driven by a compulsion to paint the patterns of nature, icons and symbols of the places she loves.
Alison paints as she sees paradise, the absence of civilisation apparent as she focuses on the light playing on pristine water, foliage and sand – preoccupied with changes to colours of land and sea. These evocative paintings are striking, surprising and memorable in their representation. -

Carol McArdle
Copyright © Carol McArdleBest Of America Watermedia Artists Volume IIYou can often find me gathering source materials for my oil and acrylic paintings in undeveloped, unspoiled areas of nature in places such as State Parks and Preserves. I record what I find by camera and memory, and when back in the studio I explore, contemplate, change, join, mix and interpret my findings. After thinking about the many creative possibilities of composition, size, focal point and more, I choose what I feel is the best combination of factors to portray what I want in my painting. Finally the birthing of it can begin, and when done I share the gift. What started as an inner vision behind my mind's eye has now become an external piece of art in front of yours.

Jane Palmer
Copyright © Jane B PalmerBest Of America Water Media Volume IIJane Batalden Palmer employs the fluidity of watercolor to evoke mystic natural scenes, masterfully using the traditional medium in unconventional ways. Palmer actualizes her belief in art as something uplifting, “bringing a sense of beauty into a world that badly needs it.” Her works are “ethereal, vibrant, vivid watercolors, created with a complex combination of pours, evaporations, resists, controlled flows and finished with meticulous brushwork.” Dexterously mastering complex techniques to maintain control of her medium, Palmer superimposes environmental forms. The result is always a luminous painting that explores the beauty and interconnectedness of all living things with their environment.

N.C. Swan

Swan - Newport Coast, CaliforniaNC Swan, is an award-winning, published, artist who has been exhibiting at shows and galleries throughout Southern California for the last 30 years. An associate member of the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society, she has been painting the world around her since the age of two. Love of place provides endless inspiration as she seeks to preserve bits of the familiar, snatching scenes from a landscape and lifestyle that is constantly reinventing itself; view them in her extensive online gallery.
"Having worked with many media, watercolor's flowing pigments captivate me. They mix themselves in a kaleidoscope of color and movement, matching the fluid moods of the sea. Fascinated by the ocean's constantly changing faces, I'm inspired and renewed by its energy. I simply can't resist the desire to pursue its elusive nature with my brush." Nancy Swan -
Mira M White
Copyright © Mira M White Best Of America Watermedia Volume IIPainting is my meditation. The most compelling, even haunting, force propelling my images has been an unquenchable thirst for recording and expressing transformation. I try to synthesize different influences in my life into a rich and complex imagery that tells of the connection between the outer experience of daily life and the inner world of a developing spiritual heart.
