Sharon Fox-Cranston, SCA
Copyright © Sharon Fox-CranstonBest Of Worldwide Artists Working in Charcoal, Pastel and Pencil Volume IArt is an undeniable necessity, an intrinsic element that defines my life. From my first Crayola - I was hooked.
My early work was illustrative in nature, which enabled me to develop a solid understanding of drawing and composition. Today my focus is on the more organic, natural designs of nature. I enjoy the immediacy and saturation of colour that painting with pastels offer. A reflection of my life and travels, I particularly enjoy taking my art outdoors and have painted many of my works “en plein air” in Canada, Italy, France, England, Wales, and the USA.
Sharon Fox Cranston, SCA will be showing at the 28th Annual Rideau Valley Art Festival held in Westport, ON, Canada, Friday Aug. 21 - Sunday Aug. 23 -

Philip Lee
Copyright © Philip Lee Best Of Worldwide Artists Working in Charcoal, Pastel and Pencil Volume IPastels have enabled Philip Lee to develop a clear vision of what he wants to express, as it is the appropriate medium for his exploration of surfaces and the picture plane. Landscapes allows Philip to explore the visual world. His artwork is an attempt to go beyond a representation or simplification of what he perceives. It is the result of his sustained psychological spatial experience. In response to visual and other stimuli Philip tries to produce work with a strong sense of atmosphere or place/occasion. To accomplish this end he makes marks, which accumulate to create a textured painted surface.
