Some of the first things people notice about my paintings are the vibrant colors, and clouds that draw your attention to the mood of each piece as well as the attention to detail. I tend to favor realism for its attention to fine detail.Capturing the movement of a wave or the light on clouds is in every sense a challenge and the moment when all the elements are in harmony is fleeting. When all these elusive features are brought together successfully in a harmonious combination of colors and tones, reflecting
various moods – I am excited to take the journey!
"Early on with my career, I developed a serious passion to express myself through my art. Each time I start a new piece, I feel as though I am
starting on a new adventure; I never know where it may take me!" -

Matthew Bates
Copyright © Matthew BatesBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume IMatthew Bates paints in the style of modern realism. His oil paintings are the result of a personal journey in which he delves into the minute details of daily life. In his Cityscapes he looks for places where the design of the buildings blends together with the people passing by. To do this he takes many photographs and makes a collage which he puts together as a large digital image. This image, often larger than life, is then carefully transferred by hand to the canvas where the real adventure begins. Since all details are taken into consideration, one painting may take many months to complete. Not content with just his Cityscapes, Bates paints a myriad of other subjects such as Flowers, Landscapes and Still Life paintings.

Michael Cheval
Copyright © Michael ChevalBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume IMichael Cheval is the world's leading contemporary artist, specializing in
Absurdist paintings, drawings and portraits. In his definition, "absurdity"
is an inverted side of reality, a reverse side of logic.
Born in 1966 in Kotelnikovo, a small town of southern Russia, Cheval
developed a passion for art in his early childhood.
When his family moved to Germany in 1980, the West European culture made a
great impression on the young artist. In 1986, he moved to Turkmenistan and
graduated from Ashgabat school of Fine Art. Absorbing Eastern philosophy and
the character of Central Asia, he began working as an independent
professional artist, shaping his style and surrealistic direction.
His decision to immigrate in 1997 to the USA began a new epoch for the
artist. He returned to the Western culture that greatly inspired him in his
German youth, but now he brought his own experience, philosophy, and vision.
In 1998, Cheval became a member of the prestigious New York's National Arts
Club where he was distinguished with the Exhibition Committee Award in 2000.
He is also a member of the Society for Art of Imagination since 2002. Cheval
has published two full-colored art albums — "Lullabies" in 2004 and "Nature
of Absurdity" in 2007. His work is internationally acclaimed and can often
be seen in USA galleries and abroad. -

Daniel DeRoux
Copyright © Daniel DeRouxBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume II have been painting for 38 years in Alaska. When I started, I committed myself to draw from any source I found interesting, to avoid being locked into a specific style and to have the freedom to pursue my desires. This has led me to explore the old masters as well as the ancient masters of Northwest Coast and Alaskan art. The inspiration for the European
surrealists is alive in my own backyard. I work and live with one foot in the forest primeval, and the other in the computer age, a good balance. -

John Gentile
Copyright © John GentileBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume IBy Art Critic Charles Giuliano, Professor of art history, School of Art and Design at Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
"The initial response to the paintings is their apparent abstraction. One is absorbed by the play of high chroma colors, areas of bright red and yellow that with heat and energy push away from the supporting surface toward the viewer."
By Italian Art Critic Antonio Gasbarrini -
"It is not easy to enter into Gentile’s Kaleidoscopic poetic universe (An Italian & American Artist) as Charles Giuliano justly defines it, unless the fundamental phases of his Italian academic education and subsequent American creative influences are not explored."
Next exhibition:
J.Raimondi Gallery, Charlestown Boston, September to December 2009. -
Frederick Gingell
Copyright © Frederick GingellBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume I
Frederick has a passion for beauty. Most of his works are highly colourful. Born in Malta, an island bathed in sunshine, where colour springs even from the limestone walls. His choice of shades have no pre-determined pattern or meaning, it comes natural to him, fuelled by his imagination. He employs the old painting skills of colour, shape and from from a new perspective. He strives to reproduce a scene, figure and objects from a personal creative point of view, and very often he succeeds with the use of the brush and chronometric ability. His belief is that God created good and beautiful things for us to enjoy, even though we seem committed to destroying them and consequently ourselves. He states “I am an optimist by nature. I try to channel that into my art. I want my pictures, my designs, to make people happy, to be aesthetically pleasing.”. Most of his works are in private collections but can still be viewedat www.frederickgingell.com.

Terry Guyer
Copyright © Terry GuyerBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume IWhen I paint an oil painting it is a multi-faceted mental journey. If I do my job well, and the final painting is successful, the viewer should have a similar experience.
I work successive layers of translucent and opaque oil paint to the point that the sense of paint gives way to an impression of life. I paint realism because it gives purpose and structure to the visual sensation of color and value being created. The impression created by the paint handling gives context to the realistic imagery and together it builds a more complete and satisfying visual experience.

Eva M. Paar
Copyright © Eva M PaarBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume IEva Paar is an Austrian Artist who exhibits worldwide. Born in Salzburg, Eva works and lives in Linz.
Her unique style plays upon parallel and differentiated broad lines to represent humans, abstracted figures and scenes. Using warm earth colours provides a contrast to coolly selected motifs. Close together color gradations let more exact outlines as well as shade develop, in a realistic effect.
The second half of the 20th century is the theme of her present work. Icons of the sixties and innocent models of the present, including social topics, are reflected in dynamic poses and scenes.Future Exhibits:

Velimir Trnski
Copyright © Velimir TrnskiBest Of Worldwide Oil Artists Volume ITrnski says that he paints his own life. On his portraits, actual or fictitious, he doesn't primarily deal with female faces, but he makes a contrast between the thick substance of colour and manifold transparent coats of paint. The drawing that functions as the skeleton of the composition, consists of lines in relief and ornaments, which are later covered by thin layers of paint or gold leaves.
